Print & Make A Lampshade Workshop - Sunday 6th September 14.00-17.00

Join Suffolk maker Lydia Finney for a relaxed, hands-on session where you’ll hand block print and create a beautiful, functional piece of art for your own home. Using wooden printing blocks and linocuts, you’ll design your own pattern on cotton or linen fabric and then craft it into a 30cm drum lampshade. You’ll have time to test out ideas on scrap fabric, and all techniques will be clearly demonstrated — no experience needed! The workshop is hosted by Lydia, a fabric printer, maker and dressmaker from Orford. Lydia runs her own micro business printing and making personal and home accessories inspired by the corner of Coast and Country where she lives. Her prints are adorned with hares and seed heads, as well as Lobsters, Crabs and Mermaids. With her experience and guidance you'll spend the afternoon printing using her huge range of wooden printing blocks and linocut designs, with a rainbow of paint colours to play and experiment with. A great creative way to spend an afternoon and go away with new skills that can take you all sorts of places. A drink and treat will be included with your ticket.
