Fantail

Leading the aroma: bright citrus, layered with juicy stone fruit, ripe peach, and a note of lemon iced tea. The palate is lean and light, opening with citrus and a touch of pear drop before a firm bitterness builds through the middle. The finish turns dry and mineral, with a crisp, white-wine-like character lingering close. Fantails (Pīwakawaka in Maori) are native birds from NZ. They are insectivorous and will hunt flying bugs hovering around lupin flowers (shown in label in Lake Tekapo, NZ).
