2022-2026 Porsche 911 992 GT3/GT3RS Carbon Fiber Roll Cage
A genuine full structural roll cage made entirely of carbon fiber tubing is essentially not a thing in the reputable aftermarket. This holds for the 992 chassis just as much as the 991: Failure mode: Carbon fiber tubing tends to shatter or delaminate under sharp impact rather than bend and absorb energy progressively the way chromoly or DOM steel does — which is the entire point of a roll cage in a crash. Sanctioning body rules: FIA, PCA, NASA, and SCCA all specify certified steel (typically chromoly, sometimes mild steel for lower classes) for primary cage tubing. None certify composite tube as a structural roll-cage material. Where weight savings actually come from on real cages: switching from mild steel to chromoly, optimizing tube diameter/wall thickness, and minimizing bar count for the application — not switching to carbon fiber tube. So if a listing says "carbon fiber roll cage" for a 992 GT3/GT3 RS, it's almost certainly one of these three things, and which one matters a lot: Chromoly/steel cage with carbon fiber cosmetic sleeves or wrap over visible tubing (interior aesthetic upgrade — structurally it's still the steel cage doing the work) A carbon fiber harness bar or rear brace only — a bolt-in, non-structural or semi-structural piece, not a full 6-point/8-point cage A true composite cage — rare, essentially always custom-fabricated, not homologated for competition, and not something I'd want to write marketing copy for without being very clear about its unverified crash performance
