Granite Old Fashioned

A homage to dimly lit speakeasies where slow and deep conversations happen. The smokey bitterness of Genchian root mixed with the warmth of allspice are elevated with rich brown sugar to create a unique flavor profile found in the intimate balance normally found in craft cocktails, but now being used in cold brew. We wanted a syrup as unique as our newest upcoming Granite Park location. It has the sweetness and richness of a brown sugar syrup, but the Genchian root adds a dry bitterness never tasted before in a previous Pax & Beneficia syrup. It was handcrafted to elevate and accentuate the notes of our cold brew coffee in a way never tasted before. How we serve it Granite Park Old Fashion Cold Brew Hand stirred then poured in a rocks glass Garnished with an orange peel Why we serve it We wanted to bring the long tradition of a nightcap to our Granite Park location. A drink to lift the spirits without using spirits. The unique balanced smokey bitterness accentuates the natural dark notes of our cold brew. Hand stirring to expertly control the dilution of both coffee and syrup puts the barista in complete control of the guests’ experience and allows a trust to build between the two. Slowly pouring it in a rocks glass with a single large cube of ice keeps the texture of the drink rich and silky and the final garnish of orange peel brightens the drink and gives an aromatic experience the guest can later associate with with world class hospitality.
