Paulin - Zapata (Day)

Description A collaboration between Paulin and Chicago-based designer Crystal Zapata, sparked by our interest in applying the designer’s meditative workflow approach to a product intended for timekeeping. Crystal looked to the stars for inspiration, thinking of classical markers of time—seasons, planetary movement and the Earth’s rotation—and how these could be echoed in the circular form of a watch dial and rotation of the hands. Her design features unique blurred numerals and star-studded minute track, with gloss lacquer over sunburst engraving adding to the ethereal effect. The caseback has a bespoke constellation design engraved in-house in our Glasgow workshop. Our 35mm Modul case houses the Swiss-made quartz ETA F06 movement, which has a seven-year battery life. At only 8.2mm thick and with machined sapphire box-crystal, it’s a comfortable wear across a wide variety of wrist sizes.
