This is a velvety and deeply moisturizing lip balm that is long lasting and includes sun protectant properties! A perfect way to utilize the benefits of Earthbound wherever you go. This lip tube can double as a quick spot treatment and is a valued item in any first aid kit. These deeply soothing herbs and oils are so nourishing to all sorts of skin conditions. They also possess anti-vital and pain relieving properties. Read about them below to see why they make such a wonderful lip balm: Trees are our ancestors, they are our fellow sacred beings. Trees excrete saps, resins & pitch ~ the lifeblood of the tree ~ to create a super sticky “scab” as a way to heal itself when it is wounded. What is so incredible, is that this sticky intoxicating, magical substance is also extremely healing for our wounded, chapped and irritated skin in very similar ways. 🌲 ABOUT EARTHBOUND: The base of this lip protectant is the beloved Earthbound Oil combined with sun shielding ingredients. The oil base is made of trees and they are amongst my favorite and most prolific tree allies that surround the PNW ~ Douglas Fir, Ponderosa Pine & Western Red Cedar, fresh infused in 3 different nourishing oils. All of these trees possess a plethora of anti-viral, pain relieving, antiseptic & anti-microbial properties that help fight infections, inflammation, wounds, burns, chapped skin & so much more. After our windstorms, I am grateful to be able to harvest so much fresh resin and boughs from the fallen trees to infuse for all my Earthbound offerings. PNW Wildcrafted Ingredients: Western Red Cedar, Douglas Fir & Ponderosa Pine infused in Organic Oils of: Olive, Avocado, Grapeseed, Carrot Seed Extract, Shea Butter, Grass-fed Lanolin & PNW Beeswax. 🌲 Carrot Seed Extract ~ This oil is packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and carotenoids. It’s a valuable ally when it comes to sun protection as it has a natural SPF of approximately 38 to 40. It’s a safe and natural option to not only help shield your skin from sun damage, but promote a more even skin tone and allow the other properties in this balm seek in deeply to do their moisturizing and repair work. 🌲 Grass-fed Lanolin ~ Lanolin, similar to Tallow, provides absolutely incredible healing properties for the skin. Lanolin is considered cruelty free as it is the secreted oil the sheep creates on their wool to protect it, and is gathered after the sheering process. Due to its nature, it creates a barrier on the skin's surface that helps block sun ways, wind, lock in moisture and skins natural oils. The amazing conditioning and moisturizing properties of lanolin is why the substance is so widely used in skin care - you are likely using products that contain lanolin oil without realizing it. It brings a velvety, thickening and emulsifying quality to this lip balm, allowing it to be long lasting and penetrate deeply. Due to lanolin’s ability to penetrate and sit on the surface of the skin - it makes this balm and the sun shielding properties to be long lasting. 🌲 Western Red Cedar & Cedarwood ~ WR Cedar is considered a community tree ~ the Grandmother of the Rainforest which holds deep sacred grounding Earth energy. They help relieve anxiety & grounds you, as they connect with the primal source of life to resolve feelings of separateness. They thrive in this wet corner of the world and is thought to be connected to the wisdoms of the Underworld. They've been utilized by the PNW Indigenous People's for centuries both spiritually and medicinally. Topically, they are incredible at easing inflammation which is great for relieving pain in joints, they are extremely antimicrobial which helps kill off bacterial, fungal, and viral infections of the skin. 🌲 Douglas Fir needles, pitch & resin ~ Douglas Fir is the tree of Oregon, we are surrounded by them and they are the second tallest tree in the USA. They are amazing teachers in that they adapt to their environment, able to withstand significant fires and the below zero temps. And their ability to adapt is their offerings to us. They are the protectors of the forest. The simple scent of this tree oil reminds us to be more adaptive and immediately allows us to be more gentle with ourselves and aware of the Earth beneath our feet. They also has a plethora of antiseptic & anti-microbial properties that help fight infections. The pitch and resin is created by a tree when they are wounded. It is their natural scab and their pitch and resin provides us with the same healing properties. Wonderful for inflammation, wounds, burns, scrapes, amazing for joint pain, and so much more. 🌲 Ponderosa Pine needles, pitch & resin ~ Their scent is thought to have the incredible ability to help release self-doubt, self-defeating behaviors and paralyzing emotions from the past that no longer serve us. They've been utilized by the PNW Indigenous People's for centuries both spiritually and medicinally. Ponderosa was valued especially for its antiseptic and vulnerary properties, using it to treat a range of skin problems, cuts, wounds, burns etc. They are full of antiseptic, antimicrobial, disinfectant properties and are also high in vitamins C and A, as well as many minerals and antioxidants. They help ease inflammation and muscular pains.
