Herbaceous Peony 'Bowl of Beauty'
Paeonia lactiflora 'Bowl of Beauty' A classic variety with Japanese-form blooms: large pink guard petals open to reveal a festival of creamy white petalodes tinged with lemon at the centre. The blooms appear early to mid-season and are lightly fragrant, on strong stems to 80cm tall. Bred by Aart Hoogendoorn, a prolific nurseryman and plant breeder in Boskoop, Netherlands, it was released in 1949 and is also known under the name 'Globe of Light'. A reliable garden performer, it holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit, a mark of consistent quality under garden conditions. A very beautiful herbaceous peony for the garden.
