Wicked Rabbit Bag Charm

A customer asked me recently if I had any rabbit pieces. I didn’t at the time, but I was already working on a few things for Halloween, so I thought it would be fun to make a rabbit that felt a little different from the ones I usually make. And this is what came out. I used plant-dyed rustic cotton and gave each rabbit a distressed finish, then added patches, visible stitching, lace, buttons, and a few uneven little details. The arms and legs are movable, so it hangs a little differently depending on how you position it. Because the fabric is plant-dyed, every batch comes out differently, and the distressing is also done by hand. That means each rabbit will have its own color marks, worn areas, patch placement, and little details. No two will look exactly the same. It’s definitely a little stranger than my usual animals, but that’s exactly what I wanted for this one. Only a small batch will be made.
