Royal Doulton Loving Jug Charles Dickens The handle has an open book and inscribed in the handle is DICKENS | Master of Smiles and Tears. On the top of the handle to one side is an inscribed signature H Fenton [one of the designers of the jug], and on the lower handle junction is inscribed Noke [Charles Noke, the other designer of the jug] The pouring spout has the face of Charles Dickens Around the lower section of the jug is LORD KEEP MY MEMORY GREEN, and below the numerous names of characters from Dickens novels including Poor Joe, Fagin, Sarah Gamp, Sydney Carton, Pickwick, Mantalini, Sam Weller, Barnaby Rudge, Little Nell Bill Sykes and Tony Weller Designers: Charles Noke & Harry Fenton Issued: 1936 in a Limited Edition of 1000 only Approx 27cms (10 1/2") tall Approx 28cms (11") spout to handle In excellent condition A small amount of fine, clean glaze crazing is present, commensurate with an item of some 90 years in age GUARANTEED free from damage and repair
