The manufacturer advises caution where cleanliness is the highest priority or where the material goes inside precision equipment – a fibre-free alternative is often better for those cases. Creases can be treated with steam without touching the surface with an iron.Frequently asked questionsWhy choose IR Flock Sheet over KIWAMI? KIWAMI is the blackest in visible light, but the manufacturer does not recommend it for infrared use. IR Flock Sheet keeps total reflectance at 0.5 % or less from the visible into the near-infrared, so for NIR applications it is the right choice.Does IR Flock Sheet also work in visible light? Yes. The same ≤ 0.5 % total reflectance covers the visible range, so the material serves both the eye and the sensor – practical when a test environment needs both.Is an adhesive-backed version available? Yes. Every size is available both with and without glue. The adhesive version is convenient for the internal surfaces of devices and housings.Can the material be cut and sewn? Yes.
