STAGE 3 UNIT 2 NSW PDHPE movement, safety, wellbeing, health, self management

This unit teaches students the importance of emergency plans, fire safety behaviours, decision-making and financial choices that support wellbeing. In PE, students participate in regular physical activity to improve fitness, refine movement skills across various sports and participate in physical activities to promote motivation and enjoyment. Students develop self-management skills and resilience strategies and learn to effectively respond to feedback. The PDHPE K–6 units are designed as a 16-lesson sequence, comprising of 8 PDH lessons and 8 PE lessons, with 4 optional consolidation lessons. The lessons are written in sequence to show the flow of learning and the building of concepts across lessons. To implement the syllabus and meet teaching requirements, teachers are expected to teach one PDH and one PE lesson each week. It is important at the start of each lesson that you read the teaching notes as there is some Lesson preparation needed for some lessons. These include printing sets of cards in some lessons, printing worksheets for assessment purposes so that work samples are available for each child.
