Metate Pot, Large Terracotta Footed Planter.

A class of culturally influenced, sculptural terracotta pots are extremely rare! The tripedal/three footed solid terracotta planter features design aesthetics inspired by traditional Mexican kitchen tools like the metate or molcajete. Metate planters are available in 3 distinct sizes. The short and wide oval-shaped Large is perfect for midsize to large plants or young trees. The pot's deep belly floats 4"in/10cm above ground supported by the 3 sturdy, solid terracotta feet. The entire exterior surface of each Metate pot features a heavy texture. This rough-hewn layer varies per pot adding dimension and authenticity. From a distance the scabrous surface is reminiscent of avocado skin, yet close-up it the texture is more similar to lava-rock.
