Silk Qum carpet

Qum silk carpets are woven near the city of Tehran, and produced very fine rugs since the 1930’s. Known for beautiful designs and very fine patterns of floral designs, all silk Qum carpets such as this are remarkable to view up close. Woven on a silk foundation and with a silk pile, the shine on this rug is stunning. Around 25 years old, the condition is brilliant and perfect, these fine rugs are increasingly rare to find, they would cost a great deal more to weave today. Lovely gentle colours on this fine silk rug, muted dyes and very easy on the eye.
