Hackberry (Celtis occidentalis)

American Hackberry (Celtis occidentalis) is a tough, hardy tree that produces unique edible fruits that are often described as being like a nut and a berry at the same time ~ a tasty seed surrounded by a thin layer of sweet fruit.
