Handcrafted in Our Yorkshire Workshop & Meadery The Mead For years, our gift sets featured mead made by our good friend Pete Allanson—a 3rd generation, Great Yorkshire Show 'Reserve Champion' beekeeper & mead maker. While Pete has officially hung up his brewing paddle to enjoy retirement, his influence (& honey) lives on at the Horns of Odin Meadery. We now handle the brewing ourselves, using 100% genuine honey sourced directly from Pete’s sustainable Yorkshire hives. Blended with delicate natural spring water drawn from beneath Cheddar Gorge, our traditional mead contains no artificial flavourings, no added sugars, and absolutely no cheap white wine bases. It is 100% real, pure mead—smooth, rich, and worthy of the Horns of Odin name. The Horn Every single horn mug in these gift sets is individual and crafted entirely by hand right here in our Yorkshire-based workshop, our mugs are sanded and part-polished to create a stunning rustic finish. We secure each mug with a solid 10mm oak base and extensively clean and line the interior with food-grade, deodorized beeswax. We choose natural wax over synthetic polyurethane to keep your vessel as authentic and organic as possible. Because these are 100% natural cow horn, every single mug boasts a unique shape, pattern, and colour story. The Gift Box A high quality gift deserves an equally elegant presentation. This set doesn't arrive in flimsy cardboard. It is housed in our custom-designed, matte-black luxury keepsake box, emblazoned with the striking Horns of Odin logo in metallic gold foil. The opening experience continues the moment the lid is lifted. The interior features a printed chronicle of our story, greeting the recipient as they look inside. Cushioned with a thick bed of natural, rustic straw, opening this box feels less like unwrapping a package and more like discovering a hidden treasure in the Great Hall. Care Instructions (No Hot Drinks) Because we keep things authentic and use natural beeswax to line the interior, this mug is not suitable for hot drinks. Stick to chilled mead, ale, or water to protect the seal. A complete set of care instructions is included in every box to ensure your mug lasts a lifetime. Production Times, Dietary Info & International Shipping Made to Order: Because our horn mugs are built, sealed, and beeswax-lined at the bench, please allow a production time of up to 4 weeks during busy spells before shipping (we aim to dispatch much faster) Dietary Info: Gluten-free, vegetarian, and free from GMOs. May contain sulphites. International Shipping: Due to postal restrictions, we can only ship a maximum of 2 bottles of mead per parcel outside of the UK.
