The harpy eagle is a neotropical rainforest species found in low elevations from southern Mexico through Central & South America. Among the most powerful raptors in the world, their claws extend 3-4 inches, the size of a grizzly bear’s! Harpy eagles have a facial disk composed of feathers that provides them with a keen sense of hearing.
