Hand-crafted Incense Workshop Saturday, July 18th 1 - 3 PM

Discover the art of hand-crafted incense at our workshop presented by Morganne Wakefield of Hard Broom Incense. Learn the techniques of blending natural, botanicals and hand-rolling. Ticket cost includes: A lesson and hands-on demonstration of making incense by Hard Broom incense's Morganne Wakefield Custom blended cones of hand-rolled incense Refreshments Saturday, July 18th 1 - 3 PM Price $70 per person Level This is an introductory class for beginners, but all skill levels are welcome. Location Event will be held in the Third Season Design Studio on the roof at 1516 W Carroll Ave. Entrance is on the Justine side of the building under our three greenhouses. Green roof tours will be available weather permitting. Green roof is accessible by elevator and paved path. Cancellation Policy Tickets to this event are non-refundable. Hard Broom Bio Hard Broom is a ritual goods line primarily offering hand-rolled natural incense cones (made from ethically-sourced aromatics, barks and moon water). All items are made by Morganne Wakefield in her Chicago-based studio and are crafted with sustainability and slowness in mind. Morganne started making incense in 2018, when she struggled to find natural incense readily available for purchase. This set her down a path of research, trial and error, and immersion in one of the oldest olfactory traditions. Constantly finding new and better ways to make the incense cones, sourcing ethical ingredients and respectfully honoring the tradition of incense-making that is so steeped in cultural meaning, worldwide.
