"Speed the Plough" Carved Bread Board, c1880

Available is an unusual bread board with the phrase "Speed the Plough" carved in gothic letters across the top, with stylized ivy leaves at the bottom. This phrase was used to wish for a bountiful harvest, especially relevant when bringing in the wheat. Moderate wear to the words on the board and knife marks across the top. Lovely patina and warm wood grain throughout. Estimated age c1880. Sourced from England.
