Isle of Raasay The Chinkapin

The Chinkapin has landed-Isle of Raasay's third core Single Malt Whisky. At 50.2% ABV, natural colour, and non-chill filtered, this expression combines peated and unpeated spirit crafted from 100% Scottish barley. Both are matured separately in fresh and refill Chinkapin oak casks before being married together to create the signature lightly peated style. Chinkapin Oak is a North American oak species rarely used in whisky production. These casks feature a high toast and heavy char, delivering distinctive barbecue notes that complement the light peat character beautifully. Fully matured in Chinkapin oak casks, this single malt represents an industry first-a complete maturation in this unconventional wood that sets it apart from traditional expressions.
