Tasting notes Our latest single variety vintage of one of our favourite apples, this latest Bisquet is reminiscent of the 2022 vintage with higher amounts of natural sugar than the 2023 vintage, bringing all of that tropical pineapple flavour to the fore. With enough tannin to keep it interesting, this is a delicious, mouth-watering introduction to our natural fine cider. Food pairing suggestions With a vibrant flavour reminiscent of pineapple, this rich, unctuous cider pairs beautifully with soft blue cheese. The story behind the cider In the Summer of 2021 we learned a startling fact. Michelin, the widely planted, famous cider apple, was not in fact Michelin. The apple we all knew and loved had been wrongly named ever since it was brought to these shores from France by the pomologist Henri Michelin in 1883. It turns out that this gentleman’s name had stuck and the apple’s true name was forgotten until recent DNA testing uncovered the mistake! So may we present to you, in its true form, Bisquet, the apple formerly known as Michelin! Vital statisitics 4.7% Vol. Titratable acidity: 3.4g/l Residual (natural) sugar: 34.7g/l 75cl Medium, perlant ,unfiltered, unpasteurised, wild fermented, pure juice, natural cider Ingredients: Apples (Bisquet) handpicked from unsprayed traditional standard orchards Orchard/s: Jury Pressed December 2024 No added sulphites Batch no: M2419 Batch size: 551x 75cl bottles Closure: Crown cap Carbon footprint The CO2 emissons for 1x bottle of Bisquet 2024 measures 2.65kg. We are hugely proud to be the first UK cidery to publish our carbon foot printing data and since 2021 each bottle produced has contained this information on the label. We believe that sharing this data is essential for us all to start being able to make conscious and informed choices about what we consume and the effect those decisions will have on our planet. Read more about how we calculate our carbon footprint here. FAQs How quickly will I recieve my order? Everything is packed and shipped by us (Tom and Lydia) at the cidery and we aim to get all orders out within two days of purchase. If you need your cider more quickly, get in touch and we'll do our best to help! Orders are shipped via Parcel Force on a next day delivery service. Does the cider have a use by date? Unopened and stored in a cool, dry place our cider will be good to drink for around three years As a general rule, like wine, cider has excellent capacity for ageing. If the cider has been opened we recommend sealing with a champagne stopper and storing in the fridge for no more than 24 hours. Is the cider vegan friendly? Yes, our only ingredient is apples! Is the cider organic? We only use organically grown, unsprayed apples in our cider. Due to the number of orchards we care for belonging to other people we are not able to offically certify ourselves organic at this point in time. Does the cider contain sulphites? Our cider does not contain sulphites, however our perries contain a trace amount. Who designs your labels? All of the label artwork and graphic design is done in house by Lydia using traditional materials. The labels are printed onto recycled paper by a wonderful, local family run printing company and then stuck to the bottles by us using an up-cycled, and crucially, plastic free glue invented by Tom. Check out our range of postcard art prints featuring Lydia's label art from past vintages! Can I come and collect my order from the cidery? Of course! Please select the local pickup option at the checkout and we'll drop you an email to arrange a collection time. We look forward to meeting you!
