Vintage Mens 1970s 1980s Le Glazik French Breton Fisherman Smock & Trousers Set Brick Red Canvas Workwear M/L
A classic vintage two-piece Breton fisherman or sailor workwear outfit made in France by the famous maker 'Le Glazik' from sturdy cotton canvas in brick red colour; these garments are hard to date accurately as the tops have been made in virtually the same traditional style since the 1920s - I think this is from the 1970s or 1980s. With heavy-duty construction throughout, the pullover smock top has a generous square collar, loop & button fastening, & 2 inside chest pockets; the trousers are fairly loose & straight with a slight boot cut flare towards the hem, with double inward pleats, belt loops, brass zip fly, 2 side pockets & a large rear patch pocket with buttoned flap. Accessories not included. Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description. Size: Marked EU 52 - suggested UK M / L depending on desired fit - shown on a size 38" mannequin All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent): Smock Chest - armpit to armpit: 24" (61cm) Shoulder to shoulder: 20 1/2" (52cm) Shoulder to cuff: 23 1/2" (59.5cm) Armpit to cuff: 21 1/2" (54.5cm) Hem width: 24" (61cm) Back length - base of collar to hem: 30" (76cm) Trouser waist: 18 1/2" (47cm) Inside leg: 33" (84cm) Outside leg: 45 1/2" (115.5cm) Rise - crotch seam to top of waistband: 13 3/4" (35cm) Leg width at hem: 10" (25cm) Condition: In excellent condition overall, appears seldom worn - with slight fade on the fold & crease lines, some surface marbling from laundering.
