AmberLite HPR8400 H Ion Exchange Resin from DuPont is a premium weak acid cation (WAC) resin designed for industrial demineralization and softening processes where high performance and cost-efficiency are essential. Thanks to its high total capacity and larger particle size, it offers excellent operating capacity with low pressure drop, while reducing chemical and water consumption during regeneration. In H-form operation, the resin removes hardness linked to alkalinity. When used alongside strong acid cation (SAC) resins, it enhances demineralization efficiency and reduces the burden on SAC resins. Compared to conventional WAC resins, AmberLite HPR8400 H provides higher total capacity, helping to lower operational costs and environmental impact, while conserving raw water resources under optimal conditions. In Na-form, it removes total hardness even in high-salinity water. This enables improved softening performance and supports compact system designs or increased output in existing setups. For reverse osmosis (RO) pretreatment, the resin protects membranes from scaling, improves system recovery, and reduces the need for pH control chemicals. Its robust softening capability allows RO systems to operate effectively even under harsh or variable feedwater conditions, such as in wastewater reuse or zero-liquid discharge applications. 1.
