LETRS Training Volume 1

Volume 1 LETRS® Training Enrollment: Fall 2026 LETRS® (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling), developed by Dr. Louisa Moats and Dr. Carol Tolman, provides teachers with the skills they need to master the fundamentals of reading instruction—phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, writing, and language. Enrollment Details This online enrollment form is for LETRS Volume 1, starting Fall 2026 at ESSDACK (Hutchinson). Please only complete this form once a final commitment to the training has been made. Volume 1 Only: This enrollment and payment cover Volume 1 only. Sign-ups for Volume 2 will take place at the end of the next school year. Materials: Once the enrollment period officially closes, all training materials will be purchased and distributed by the state. KSDE will not purchase materials for a person that has previously enrolled in the course and did not complete. Member Price - $300 Non-Member Price - $600 Commitment & Requirements Please only enroll teachers who have agreed to the rigorous time commitment required for this program. This cohort includes 4 days of professional learning, 4 online units, and "bridge to practice" assignments for Volume 1. Attendance Policy: Due to the nature of the course scheduling and materials, no refunds will be issued for missed classes. * Make-up Support: In the event of an unavoidable absence, Janea Gray (facilitator) will provide support in identifying where and how the missed work can be completed. Resources: Here is a document to share with teachers to explain the commitment. Please ignore the top portion that indicates who qualifies for free. Exclusions: This cohort is not for PreK teachers. Please visit the ESSDACK website to sign up for PreK LETRS. Schedule & Credits Dates for Volume One are: September 23, 2026 November 16, 2026 February 22, 2027 April 19, 2027 Volume Two dates will be released with that enrollment, with two dates in the fall and two in the spring. College Credit Available: Up to 5 college credit hours total are available for each volume. 3 credit hours are available for the online portion of Volume 1. 1/2 credit hour is available for each in-person day with the Trainer.
