Typographic Process, NR.1–NR.5 (Wolfgang Weingart)
The “Typographic Process” poster series was a published documentation of results from the Typography Class for Graphic Designers and Typographers at the Kunstgewerbeschule Basle (School of Design). Various series appeared at random intervals, each consisting of at least five different posters. Or, so sayeth the text in the upper right corner of each of these posters. Each poster features examples of student work and/or collaborations with Wolfgang Weingart’s students. Themes include “Organized Text Structured” (1974); “From Simple to Complex Text Structures” (1973); “Calendar Picture” (1971–2); “Typographic Signs” (1971-2); and “Typography as” (1971–2) They’re delightful experiments with communication and expression—and uncommon as a set. MoMA has a set. You could, too.
