R Chevillon NSG Les Cailles 1er 2022

92-94 Points | The Wine Advocate, William Kelley The 2022 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Cailles is serious and concentrated, unfurling in the glass with aromas of raspberries and plums mingled with orange zest, peonies and sweet spices. Medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless, with a deep and layered core of fruit, refined tannins and a resonant finish, it's a terrific wine in the making. Domaine Robert Chevillon is one of my favorite addresses in all of Burgundy, producing hearty, characterful wines that stand the test of time. Old vines, cultivated soils, moderate yields and long macerations at comparatively high temperatures with entirely destemmed grapes are the order of the day at this address, with the Nuits-Saint-Georges Vieilles Vignes seeing some 20% new oak and the premiers crus 30%. Nuits's Tonnellerie Sirugue is the dominant supplier of barrels.
