Western Sword Fern (P. munitum) 'Oregon Giant' COLD HARDY
Western Sword Fern (P. munitum) 'Oregon Giant' Although not technically a palm, this fern ads a lush tropical feel that compliments any exotic-type garden, especially in shaded areas. Growing to heights of 6+ feet and 4-5 feet wide, the dark green fronds gracefully arch and provide a spectacular show all year long, staying evergreen in most climates! Extremely cold hardy, with some growers reportedly surviving temps of below -40F, zones 3/4! Preferring mostly shade, this type of fern can withstand periods of sun and is very drought tolerant (once established). Perfect for dry shade areas, and/or areas of fill-in that have less light due to surrounding plants/trees. A 'must have' for any garden or property! This plant comes in various sizes.
