Join local artist Michael Sharp for an encouraging and engaging introduction to the fundamentals of drawing. Designed for beginners and developing artists, this monthly class focuses on building confidence while learning the essential skills needed to draw what you see. Students will explore composition, value, line, form, perspective, texture, and shading through guided exercises, observational studies, and creative projects. Working from photographs and live objects, students will develop the skills needed to interpret and translate what they see onto paper. Drawing can often feel intimidating, especially for beginners who believe “I can’t draw.” Michael’s supportive teaching style helps students move past the pressure of “getting it right” and instead enjoy the process of learning, experimenting, and creative exploration. More dates will be added for 2027. 👨🎨 About the Instructor Michael Sharp is a classically trained artist with a BFA in drawing and painting from Texas Tech University. His work has been exhibited in galleries across Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Fe, and Dallas.
