Abi Natur Canadian # 1053
Italian Ligurian Briar - Abi takes the classic Canadian in a new direction with a canted bowl on a rectangular shank. I have seen a lot of variations on the Canadian. The benchmark for all were, Les Woods, Ferndown Canadian, as the late Tony Soderman was adamant about. And I agreed. I handled Les's pipes for 18 years, until he retired. I always liked Castello's short (6"/152mm) ovalized shank Canadian as a great variation. Abi's is unusual and instantly recognized as one. It is unique and exceedingly pleasing to the eye, comfortable to hand. WIth its' terrific tight high contrast grain it stands out easily in a crowded field.
