Nike Phantom GX Academy DF Blue FG New with box The Upper: The Phantom GX Academy model was based off the top end Phantom GX Elite, a very short lived series by Nike The upper on the Academy model was rather nice, using a knitted material along the sock collar and throughout most of the boot The NikeSkin layer was used above the knitted material, a lightweight synthetic coating that added a nice textured strike zone, and some stability along the strike zone This is the DF version, using the knitted sock collar for a more locked in fit The Sole Plate: This sole plate used a one piece plastic design, that was slightly thicker than the Elite version, but featured a similar cosmetic approach A mixture of chevron and rounded studs were used Notes and Comments: Overall, the upper is rather nice on these, giving a more premium feel with the knitted material, even for the Academy model The main difference is the sole plate being slightly thicker than the top model, but overall the boots are rather nice to the touch
