Two Tonne Tasmania TMV Chardonnay 2025

The Wine 100% Chardonnay. As always, the TMV Chardonnay comes from a blend of sites, anchored by Ricky’s Evans home vineyard, Woodlawn Park. A cool expression of the Tamar Valley, this breezy site on free-draining sandy soils near the river in Swan Bay produces vibrantly pure, potent fruit. The grapes are mostly whole-bunch pressed, settled overnight, and run to oak the following morning, with fermentation carried out predominantly in 500L casks (including a small portion of new oak). Site and fruit profile dictated the level of solids in each parcel, while a greater share of the blend went through malolactic conversion in 2025, lending an extra lick of richness and breadth. After blending, the wine spent a further month on fine lees in tank, giving a relaxed, quietly glossy feel on release, all tempered by the region’s signature cooling natural acidity.
