19th Century French Silver Guard Chain

This very long French 'guard' chain dates to the 19th century and has been crafted from 800 purity silver. The intricate figure of 8 style links also have a double infinity symbol appearance to them and have been beautifully crafted. The guard chain terminates with a large silver bolt ring clasp which is working well and is secure. To the clasp is a rubbed French 'boar' mark which indicates it was manufactured in France from 800 purity (800 out of 1000 parts pure) silver which is typical for French silver of the period. These chains are excellent when double or tripled around the neck and can of course hang fobs, pendants and other curios. The chain shows the normal signs of wear for a piece of its age but has no major issues, and is ready for regular wear by its new custodian.
