Title: “Regnorum Hispaniae et Portugalliae Tabula generalis ad statum hodiernum in suas Provincias divisa…MDCCLXXXII…”​ ​ Description: Very attractive map of reflecting the late 18th-century provincial borders, coastlines, and major roads of the Spanish and Portuguese kingdoms. Includes a highly detailed, decorative neo-classical or Empire-style ornamental title cartouche. Displays a miliares indicator featuring up to five different geographic scales (Spanish leagues, French leagues, maritime miles). The map was originally drafted by the prominent Spanish cartographer Tomás López de Vargas Machuca, corrected and updated by German cartographer Franz Ludwig Güssefeld, and published in Nuremberg by the famous publishing house Homann Heirs in 1782.
