JR 227 Series Suburban Train (Red Wing, 2-Car) Basic Set The 227 series is a suburban train that began operation in 2015, primarily serving as local and rapid trains in the Hiroshima area. The train's exterior features a red color scheme inspired by the torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine and the maple tree, the official tree of Hiroshima Prefecture, along with the train's nickname "Red Wing" and the "Hiroshima City Network" logo. As of January 2025, 63 three-car trains and 42 two-car trains are in service. ● Renewed front shape based on the 225 series A-seat, 521 series, and 323 series ● Vehicle prototype reproduces the later model appearance ● Front display section is interchangeable with pre-printed parts installed, and replacement parts are included ● Anti-fall bellows on the leading car are separate parts, with two types included: one for leading and one for coupled ● "Red Wing" logo and JR mark are printed ● Headlights and taillights use white LEDs, and fog lights reproduce yellow illumination using a color prism ● Headlights, taillights, and front display section are equipped with a constant lighting circuit board and an ON-OFF switch ● Leading car driver's cab side is equipped with TN coupler (SP) ● Car number is selectable and a transfer sheet is included ● Flywheel-equipped motor adopted ● New current collection system and silver wheels adopted ● M-13 motor adopted
