London Vestur - Original Artwork

The story behind the artwork Inspired by Penhaligon’s The Who’s Of London, this West London artwork brings Lord George and Lady Blanche to the heart of a world of curious encounters and extravagant characters, where the streets are alive with peculiarities and nothing is quite as it seems. A lady cat in an opulent red dress strolls past two gentlemen with wonderfully eccentric hair, while a polar bear-headed fellow pauses to listen to music beating from a pink heart, accompanied by a watchful owl. The air is rich with the scent of fig leaves, oranges and orchids, mingling with fine perfume and the promise of a good glass of wine. Look a little closer and familiar faces emerge from the crowd. Sohan perches along the border, Constance lingers near the gardens, and the family’s ever-watchful butler keeps his spying equipment close at hand, trunk and all. Every corner holds another character, another secret, another story waiting to unfold. This is West London at its most intriguing: a place of grand personalities, unexpected company and delightful eccentricity, where the extraordinary feels perfectly at home.
