Robert Delaunay Silk Scarf Elise
Elise takes Robert Delaunay's colour discs — the concentric rings of Orphism — and lets them run the length of the scarf in orange, green, blue and rose over a pale ground.Delaunay painted colour as the subject itself, not as decoration laid over a drawing. Worn open, that is exactly how it reads: bands of colour that shift as the silk moves.Printed on natural habotai silk, light and fluid, with the image running the whole length of the scarf. The ends are rolled and sewn by hand.180 x 65 cm.
