"Moment of Beauty" Brook Trout Canvas Art Print

“A trout is a moment of beauty known only to those who seek it.” — Arnold Gingrich Most of my work is done above the surface, but lately I’ve been dipping my toe into trout waters. “Moment of Beauty” is a glimpse into the underwater world of the brook trout. I love the color palette in this one—the deep turquoise of a cool mountain stream, complemented by the bright orange of the brook trout and the earthy tones of the rocks below. Every time I drive past a river near my studio in Boone, North Carolina, and the water is running clear, I see these exact colors shifting through the different depths of the river. And almost every time, I tell myself, “You need to paint more of this.” I plan to do just that in the years ahead. There’s an entirely different world beneath the surface of these mountain streams, and “Moment of Beauty” is my first step toward exploring more of it.
