This original 1970s maxi dress is by upmarket British boutique label Angela Gore. The combination of corduroy, printed cotton and decorative trims are typical of the period’s bohemian designs Circa has sold over the years. The black corduroy bodice is detailed with bands of black crochet, purple cotton, black velvet and floral embroidered ribbon. Mother-of-pearl buttons fasten the bodice, and black braid trims the neckline. The patterned bell sleeves finish in elasticated cuffs. The full, swirling skirt falls to the ankle and has two layers: a lilac skirt beneath a parted cotton top layer, patterned with an elaborate green, purple and white block print. The dress is unlined. Angela Gore was the label of Angela Boys, originally working in partnership with Daphne Gore. Already established in London by 1954, the label went on to feature in Queen and Honey during the 1960s. The dress is in very good to excellent vintage condition with no issues. There are no size or composition labels, and the fabric has no stretch. I think this will fit up to a UK 12–14 / US 8–10 but please check our measurements below. MEASUREMENTS BUST - 38 in. (97 cm) WAIST - 32 in. (81 cm) HIP - 62 in. (158 cm) LENGTH - 55 in. (140 cm)
