Old Soul Lamp XXIII

Antique highly collectible Benson style Pullman lamp in brass in perfect working condition. Pullman coaches were luxury railway parlour cars which revolutionised long-distance travel by offering plush interiors and customised services. Most original antique Pullman lamps feature a distinct tripod base as in this lamp, with holes in the feet so they could be bolted directly to a table so it wouldn't slide off or tip over while the train was in motion. They were traditionally crafted from brass to withstand travel and daily passenger use. This lamp has a beautiful swan neck arm and a clam shell shaped shade. The head can be pivoted using the fitting on its side. It has the original high-quality brass holder with the logo of Edison Swan Electric Co. Ltd, and says Made in England.
