Natural rubber is tapped by hand in Sri Lanka under Fair Trade conditions certified by the Fair Rubber Association, protecting the working and living conditions of the farmers who produce it. Tapping is done gently and sustainably — just 20-30 grams per tree, per day — to preserve the natural life cycle of each tree. We love these little boots! They are very flexible and comfortable - and don't rub like some taller rubber boots we have tried. They work well with rain pants that have elastic ankles, or as easy on and off shoes to get out the door. We feel they are true to size. If you want to wear them with thick wool socks you could choose to size up in the bigger sizes. For early walkers we always recommend not sizing up.
