Stargazer Tupelo 2026
Stargazer Tupelo 2026 The 2026 Tupelo is predominately sourced from the 2021 plantings of Gris, Pinot Blanc, Riesling and Gewurztraminer from the Palisander vineyard, with a small amount of Pinot Gris from a vineyard just outside of Richmond in the Coal River Valley. 50% Pinot Gris, 30% Pinot Blanc, 13% Riesling, 7% Gewurztraminer. Picked in early April with the Gris and Gewurz, finished in early May with the Riesling. Gris and Gewurz see eight hours of skin prior to gentle pressing - and everything else is fermented by wild yeasts in older oak Puncheons. On lees for 2-3 months prior to blending and bottling. Inspired by the 'Gentil' wines of Alsace this carries an exuberant nose of nashi pear, ginger, mandarin and musk - polished and pure through waves of textural mouth filling fruit, rollicking along in good frivolity to this beautiful chalky finish. Playful and enjoyable it's an extremely good iteration of Australian Alsace.
