BOA NOITE, CINDERELA is inspired by one of the most infamous stories in World Cup history: the so called "Holy Water" scandal of Italia '90. During the Round of 16 match between Brazil and Argentina, Brazilian defender Branco drank from a bottle handed to him by members of the Argentine staff. Moments later, he reported dizziness, confusion, and loss of balance. Years later, Diego Maradona publicly admitted that the bottle had been "special," fueling one of football's most controversial episodes. The jersey transforms that moment into an anatomical X ray. The body becomes the battlefield. The skeleton becomes evidence. The stomach, illuminated at the center of the garment, represents the object that changed the course of a match and entered football folklore forever. Across the back appears the name BRANCO and the number 10. Not as a celebration of the incident. As a witness statement. At the bottom of the number sits a phrase known throughout Latin America: "Boa Noite, Cinderela." A colloquial expression associated with drinks laced to incapacitate the person consuming them. A phrase transformed here into political satire.
