VINTAGE 1935 GENTLEMEN’s 9KT GOLD ART-DECO STYLE WATCH WITH EDINBURGH HALLMARKS. This very stylish gentlemen’s wristwatch was manufactured in 1935 and is quintessentially art-deco. Retailed by the Edinburgh jeweller Walker, later of Walker & Hall. The wonderfully elaborate 9kt gold case has all of the features that you want in a 30’s piece. Stepped sides & geometric engraving to the sides with fixed gold strap bars. The watch just oozes quality. Measuring 22mm across the bezel, not including the crown and 36mm tip-to-tip. The back opening on a hinge, fully hallmarked inside with Edinburgh marks for 1935. The two-tone silvered dial includes the very desirable applied gold breguet figures and subsidiary seconds, signed by the retailer ‘Walker’. The very, very good quality movement is in great condition and running well, winding and setting as it should. The watch is in excellent condition, with no scratches or dings and just a little fine rubbing to the back from minimal use over the years. The watch has been fitted with a new, quality alligator-grain strap.
