Orthosilicic Acid (OSA) - 500ml 16oz
Highly Concentrated Silicic Acid for Hydroponics Hydroland OSA is a specialised, highly concentrated hydroponic formulation containing stabilised Orthosilicic Acid (OSA), providing plant-available silicon in the form of monosilicic acid. Formulated with a combination of bio-available silicon, essential nutrients, trace elements and complex biomolecules, Hydroland OSA is designed to complement your existing hydroponic nutrient program throughout all stages of plant growth. Benefits of Plant-Available Silicon Improve nutrient uptake to support healthy growth and quality yields. Strengthen plant cell walls, helping improve resilience against fungal and insect attack. Increase resistance to abiotic stress, supporting healthier growth under challenging environmental conditions. Support fruit quality, including appearance, colour, flavour and overall quality. Promote stronger, more vigorous plants throughout the growing cycle. Applicant & Usage Directions SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE. Hydroponic Application Application Rate: 0.1 - 0.15 ml per Litre of Water (10 - 15ml per 100L) It is recommended to add OSA at all stages of plant growth. Ensure all measuring equipment is clean before use. Slowly add the required amount of OSA to the hydroponic nutrient tank while intermittently mixing. Allow the solution to rest for 15 minutes. Add your hydroponic nutrient to the solution and mix thoroughly. Allow the solution to rest for a further 15 minutes. Test the pH of the nutrient solution and adjust to pH 6.0 if required. Foliar Application Application Rate: 3 - 4 ml per Litre of Water. Add the required dosage of OSA to the required volume of water in a clean container and mix thoroughly. Transfer the solution into a clean spray bottle or pressure sprayer. Apply during the coolest parts of the day, preferably early morning or late evening, to minimise the risk of leaf scorching and excessive evaporation. Spray both the upper and lower surfaces of the leaves, paying particular attention to the undersides, for maximum absorption. Apply evenly until the foliage is damp or lightly coated. Avoid excessive runoff, pooling or soaking. Orthosilicic Acid (OSA) vs Potassium Silicate Both Orthosilicic Acid and Potassium Silicate can be used as sources of silicon in hydroponic growing systems, but they have different characteristics. Potassium Silicate is a cost-effective, soluble source of silicon that also supplies potassium. However, it is an alkaline solution and can cause significant changes to the pH of a hydroponic nutrient solution. This may require careful pH monitoring and adjustment using an appropriate acid, such as phosphoric acid. Orthosilicic Acid (OSA) provides silicon in a plant-available form and generally has a much lower impact on nutrient-solution pH. This makes it a convenient option for growers looking to incorporate silicon into their hydroponic nutrient program while minimising significant pH fluctuations. Note: Although OSA has minimal impact on pH, it is still best practice to measure the pH of your hydroponic nutrient solution after adding OSA and adjust as required for optimal growing conditions.
