750 mL | Alcohol/Vol: 12%From Little Farm's organic estate fruit in Cawston, in the Similkameen Valley. "Pied de cuve" means the ferment is started with wild yeast taken off the grape skins themselves — no commercial yeast, nothing added. The grapes were foot-trodden with roughly a quarter left as whole clusters, fermented on the skins for about two weeks, then gently pressed and matured ten months in stainless steel. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with a low sulfur dose.Blueberry, raspberry and red plum with violet and dried herb on the nose. The palate is crunchy and fresh — mixed berries, savoury wild herbs, violet, earth, leather and spice — with a long, refreshing finish. Light-bodied and dry.A red for the table rather than the cellar: charcuterie, roast chicken, grilled vegetables, anything with herbs. Good with a slight chill on it.
