1960's Ruffle Top Nightgown/House Dress | Vanity Fair
A version of this c.1960 Vanity Fair nightgown has been featured at The Met! While we cannot locate the current listing on their website, here is a reference. The dramatic ruffle top would make this a show-stopping evening dress. The original ribbon waist tie is intact, and the construction is a chiffon overlay over a solid lining. The panels of overlay fabric are different colors, lending to an ombré effect. There is a mark on the ribbon waist tie, visible on both sides. We tried an initial stain removal attempt that was unsuccessful. It appears to possibly be ink, which is notoriously difficult to eliminate. This has been reflected in the price.
