La Providencia
FINCA LA PROVIDENCIA HUEHUETENANGO, GUATEMALA Dark Chocolate, Walnut, Raisin Finca La Providencia has been in the Anzueto family for three generations, and Victor Hugo Anzueto runs it today with the same care and pride you’d expect from someone who grew up on this land. Tucked into the highlands of Huehuetenango at up to 1,600 meters above sea level, the farm produces beautifully grown Catuai and Caturra that we’re thrilled to be bringing to you. What makes this coffee special starts long before the cup. Victor’s team of skilled pickers hand-selects only ripe cherry — every bag is checked at intake, and anything that doesn’t make the cut gets sorted again before processing. The coffee is then pulped using an eco-friendly Penagos pulper that uses up to 95% less water than traditional processing. It’s a thoughtful approach that’s good for the coffee and good for the community around it. The result is a clean, high-grown washed coffee with everything you’d want from Guatemala — with notes of rich Dark Chocolate and grounded in the depth of Walnut, with a lingering sweetness that calls to mind Raisin.
