Inzalo Pinotage Barrel Agave Spirit

DESCRIPTION A limited single barrel release from Inzalo, a South African agave spirit produced in the Klein Karoo from wild red agave, and the inaugural bottling of the Pinotage Barrel expression. The cask was a 2016 vintage French oak barrel from Beyerskloof, with a medium-plus toast profile, filled twice using a dual-fill technique: a first fill at approximately 64% for three months to draw colour, tannins and rich red wine character, then a second fill at approximately 55% for just over three months to extract softer residual sugars and freshness from the wood. The two components were blended in equal parts and bottled at 43%. (Bottle size 750ml) TASTING NOTES Nose: Fresh red berries, dark cocoa, roasted coffee and subtle toasted oak notes. Palate: Velvety and agave-forward with layers of red fruit, Turkish delight, dark chocolate and hints of mocha, balanced by gentle tannins and residual sweetness from the Pinotage cask. Finish: Long and mineral with a saline edge characteristic of ancient seabed soils, carrying lingering warmth and soft red wine notes. AGAVE SPIRIT
