Culinary Toile - Matcha
Dan Funderburgh’s Culinary Toile is a witty tribute to historic woodblock prints illustrating a clever blend of countryside scenes that feature food related content. From giant pasta makers to teams carrying loads of asparagus to toaster farmhouses, each scene takes a classic pastoral concept and adds a gastronomic twist. While the overall aesthetic leans European, the food focus includes sushi rolls in lieu of hay rolls and avocados acting as birdbaths to round out the global appeal and inclusion. The calming Matcha colorway features a soft matte eucalyptus as the primary ink color with deep smoky and pale green accents handscreened on a sage clay coated paper substrate. Dan Funderburgh's witty, contemporary twist on traditional wallpaper illustrations made him the first Flavor Paper artist collaboration in 2005. We've been creating beautifully mischievous and irreverent wallpapers since. Dan has an uncanny ability to mash up geometric and floral patterns with classical and comical content.
