2021 Pinot Noir, Monty In Vineyard, Anderson Valley
Entering through the gates of Pennyroyal Farm are vineyard rows of Pinot Noir. Just as the road bends, the Culinary Garden begins where a path will lead you in semi-circles of raised beds full of seasonal vegetables growing for future Farm Fare made by the Estate Kitchen. At the arches covered in red trumpet vine, there is a gate opening into our finest rows of Clone 667 aka Monty In Vineyard. Composed of variable soils, it often produces a different-tasting wine each year. Vinified separately and aged extendedly in 9 oak barrels spotlights its uniqueness. The 2021 vintage has a warming aroma of earthy spice, violets, and white pepper and concentrated flavors of morello cherry, açai, and pomegranate. Its smooth, rich mouthfeel offers a lovely caramel finish on the palate. It's a texture matched deliciously with our Boont Corners Vintage tomme.
