Charodon Pinot Noir, Côte de Nuits-Villages, Burgundy, France 2022
Charodon was founded in 2010 by Louis Vallet, whose Gevrey-Chambertin-based family has deep roots in Burgundy. Louis’s father Bernard is a longtime partner in Domaine Pierre Bourree. Louis benefits from his family’s deep roots in the area, both in the land he will eventually inherit and in his connections to and knowledge of the region. Winemaker: Louis Vallet Farming: Organic Grape Varieties: Pinot Noir Terroir: Coming from vineyards in the village of Fixin, 60-year-old vines, mid- slope. Vinification: Ferments in 500L used barrels Aging: 15 months in barrel (20% new). Tasting Notes: A vivd wine. Tannins are ripe, with plush red fruits and hints of earthiness on the finish. A hedonistic wine for sure.
